چکیده

Introduction: Organ transplant recipients might be more likely to develop COVID-19, as they receive long-term immunosuppressives and have comorbidities. Case Presentation: Herein, we reported the case of a 32-year-old man with unilateral lung transplantation due unclassifiable fibrosis on pathologic evaluation who presented cough, fever, headache. After RT-PCR test chest CT scan, COVID-19 in previously transplanted was diagnosed. However, other non-transplanted fibrotic not involved. Conclusions: Lack involvement tissue our without any risk factors related fact that underlying diseases less susceptible unhealthy lungs lower ACE2 receptors, or it genetic differences between donor recipient.

Successful lung-sparing resection of synchronous pleural mesothelioma and contralateral lung cancer

BACKGROUND Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is an uncommon malignant tumor, and its synchronous occurrence with primary lung cancer is extremely rare. Here, we report the first surgical case of synchronous MPM and contralateral lung adenocarcinoma. Extrapleural pneumonectomy (EPP) combined with surgery for contralateral lung cancer may not be tolerated, and a lung-sparing procedure includin...

Esophagus and Contralateral Lung-Sparing IMRT for Locally Advanced Lung Cancer in the Community Hospital Setting

BACKGROUND The optimal technique for performing lung IMRT remains poorly defined. We hypothesize that improved dose distributions associated with normal tissue-sparing IMRT can allow safe dose escalation resulting in decreased acute and late toxicity. METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of 82 consecutive lung cancer patients treated with curative intent from 1/10 to 9/14. From 1/10 ...

Unilateral acid aspiration augments the effects of ventilator lung injury in the contralateral lung.

BACKGROUND Mechanical ventilation is necessary during acute respiratory distress syndrome, but it promotes lung injury because of the excessive stretch applied to the aerated parenchyma. The authors' hypothesis was that after a regional lung injury, the noxious effect of mechanical ventilation on the remaining aerated parenchyma would be more pronounced. METHODS Mice, instilled with hydrochlo...
